I was looking for a sweet uvaia that is extremely hard to find. Zach found one for me and sent it by mail. It was well packaged and it arrived healthy, and without damage.

Crisp Farms is amazing. The projects and plants of this place are unlike anything else available in New Orleans. Crisp serves a very important function in terms of availability of plants in the city. It's hard to describe briefly in a review how important watching Crisp Farms grow and develop has been to me. Meet them, and find out for yourself.

New Orleans is a tricky place to grow plants, particularly fruit trees. We don’t get enough chill hours for malinaciae like apple, quince, and pears or stone fruit like peaches and cherries. On the other hand, we do still get freezing temperatures, making most tropical difficult or impossible (I’m looking at you Soursop). Zach at CRISP is trying to help New Orleans bridge that gap to the tropical and more southerly subtropical fruits. Many things thrive here 360 days a year, and Zach is doing the good work to get us locally adapted genetics and growing techniques that help use those remaining 5 days a year. I don’t know anyone in the region that knows more about Eugenia fruits, and he has introduced me to a number of new varieties and species of plants. So, if you are interested in pushing the zone, and adding tropical fruit trees to your landscape, definitely check out CRISP!

Zach is all around awesome ! He has taught me so much about tropicals and subtropicals. Most importantly he maintains an enthusiasm and zest that make plants fun! I’m sure this is the key to any success he may have now or in the future.

Zach of Crisp Farms is one of the most dedicated and devoted people I have ever met. He loves plants, he loves nature, and he has an encyclopedic knowledge of how everything is interconnected. The plants he grows are of the utmost quality. Beyond the individual plants that he grows on his own property, he is an expert in case by case projects for your home garden aspirations. He knows how to amend soils, counteract invasive species, as well as engineer long term goals. He never uses harmful chemicals. He finds real solutions, rather than treat symptoms of a garden. I would say he specializes in knowing what will naturally grow well, and what will not. Nothing is forced, it comes naturally. I have witnessed Crisp farms grow within a neighborhood that has greatly benefited from its presence; kids having summer jobs, families getting to taste fruits and herbs they’ve never even heard of. I can’t say enough about Zach, Crisp Farms is a standard of quality. P.s. the T shirts rock!
